FaceTite

Advanced minimally invasive treatment for visible skin tightening and contouring, with significantly less downtime than traditional surgery

FaceTite is a minimally invasive, energy-based procedure that uses radiofrequency heat to contour and tighten the tissues of the lower face and neck. It is designed to improve loose skin and early jowling, reduce small areas of unwanted fat beneath the chin and create greater definition around the jawline.

FaceTite consultations cannot currently be booked online. Please email [email protected] or call 01675 760 644 to arrange a medical consultation.

The procedure

How FaceTite works

During treatment, a fine probe is introduced beneath the skin through a small entry point, while an external electrode passes over the skin’s surface. Radiofrequency energy travels between the internal and external electrodes, generating controlled heat within the tissues. Temperature is carefully monitored throughout treatment to support safe and consistent energy delivery.

The controlled heat causes immediate tissue contraction while stimulating collagen production and progressive tissue remodelling over the following months. FaceTite can also coagulate and soften small areas of unwanted fat. Where appropriate, this fat may be removed using gentle liposuction to improve facial contours and create greater definition around the jawline and beneath the chin.

Suitability and treatment planning

FaceTite may be suitable for people with mild to moderate skin laxity, early jowling, reduced jawline definition or localised fat beneath the chin. It can achieve more significant tissue contraction than many non-invasive treatments while avoiding the larger incisions and more extensive recovery associated with a surgical facelift.

At Hampton Clinic, FaceTite is performed under local anaesthetic as a minimally invasive surgical procedure. Every patient receives a detailed medical consultation and an individual treatment plan. FaceTite may also be combined with Morpheus8 or QuantumRF where treating the skin and underlying tissues at different depths may provide additional benefit.

Treatment options

How does QuantumRF differ from FaceTite?

QuantumRF works on a similar principle to FaceTite but offers more intensive energy delivery within the deeper tissues. This does not mean that it will necessarily produce a better result: it is important to choose the right technology for each patient.

QuantumRF may be more appropriate for people with thicker tissues, heavier jowling or more significant laxity. FaceTite may be preferable when treating thinner tissues or areas requiring greater precision.

Your doctor will assess your facial anatomy, skin thickness, degree of laxity and underlying fat before discussing which treatment—or combination of treatments—is most appropriate for you.

How does Morpheus8 complement FaceTite?

Morpheus8 delivers radiofrequency energy through fine microneedles inserted directly into the skin. It can be used as a stand-alone treatment for patients with milder laxity or concerns about skin texture, fine lines and scarring.

Morpheus8 can also complement FaceTite by treating the skin at different depths. Where clinically appropriate, it may be performed immediately after FaceTite, followed by a further treatment approximately six to eight weeks later as part of a combined treatment programme.

Results vary according to age, skin quality, tissue thickness, degree of laxity, facial anatomy and the amount of unwanted fat present. FaceTite cannot reproduce the results of a full surgical facelift and will not be suitable for everyone.

After your procedure

What is the recovery after FaceTite?

FaceTite is a minimally invasive procedure with considerably less downtime than traditional facelift surgery. However, swelling and bruising are expected, and bruising may be significant during the first seven days. Treatment should therefore be planned carefully around important work, social occasions and travel.

Many patients feel able to undertake office-based work within approximately three days, particularly when working from home. However, visible swelling or bruising may make some patients prefer to allow a week or longer before returning to face-to-face work or social activities.

You will usually be asked to wear a compression garment around the face and neck continuously for the first three days, removing it only as instructed for washing and aftercare. After this, it should normally be worn overnight for a further 14 days. Your treating doctor may recommend wearing it for longer, depending on the extent of treatment and how your tissues are healing.

Results & follow-up

When will I see the results?

Some tightening and improvement in facial contours may be visible immediately, although early swelling can temporarily disguise the result. The body’s production and remodelling of collagen occur gradually and usually takes several months.

More significant improvement is generally seen between four and six months after treatment, with tissue remodelling potentially continuing for up to 18 months. The extent and timing of the result will vary according to age, skin quality, tissue thickness, degree of laxity and the area treated.

Longer-term treatment planning

Further Morpheus8 treatments may be recommended at intervals of approximately six to twelve months to support skin quality and maintain the overall result. FaceTite itself is not usually repeated routinely and, where further treatment is appropriate, it would generally not be considered for approximately three to five years. Natural ageing will continue, and any future treatment will depend on the individual patient’s anatomy, concerns and clinical assessment.

Results Timeline

Some improvement may be visible once the initial swelling settles. Skin contraction and contour definition continue to develop over approximately three to six months, with tissue remodelling and improvement potentially continuing for up to 12–18 months.

Side Effects

Expected effects include swelling, bruising, tenderness, temporary numbness, firmness and mild fluid leakage from the entry points. Less common complications include prolonged swelling, infection, bleeding, burns, contour irregularity, seroma formation (a collection of fluid), fat necrosis, prolonged altered sensation, scarring and asymmetry. Temporary weakness affecting the lower lip or corner of the mouth can occur. Permanent nerve injury is rare but recognised. Further treatment or revision may occasionally be required.

Number of Treatments

FaceTite is usually performed as a single treatment. The result and any need for further treatment will be assessed once healing and tissue remodelling are complete. Most FaceTite treatment plans at Hampton Clinic also include Morpheus8 at the time of the procedure and a further Morpheus8 treatment approximately six to eight weeks later.

Anaesthetic

FaceTite is performed under local anaesthetic. Additional pain relief or sedation may be provided where clinically appropriate.
